Another good night at carving club

Unfortunately the Internet implies that our club is permanently closed. This isn't the case and we had a great night at the carving club tonight. Mick and Susan were in charge of tea making  this evening. We welcome anyone to come along and see if carving is a hobby that they'd like to try. You'll even get a free cuppa for the first four weeks.  We're hoping to upload pictures of carvings made by our fellow carvers as we gradually make changes to the blog. Please bear with us while this happens.

A little quiet

Club was a little quiet tonight and there was probably more chatting among our members than actual carving. George and Jim were in charge of making the tea this evening.  We're currently thinking of attending a couple of shows this year in order to promote the club and carving in general. If you are interested in joining the club please feel free to pop along for a chat on club night.

Setting up the club blog

Please bear with me as I set up a blog for Coniscliffe carving club. We meet every Tuesday from 7pm until 9pm at Bowburn Community Centre in Bowburn,  County Durham. We welcome new members and further details are to follow. Please note, this is a carving club not a class. Complete beginners are very welcome to try out the club free of charge for four weeks.  You'll be given a piece of wood and appointed a mentor for four weeks who will teach you the basics of woodcarving.  You will be allowed the use of a set of tools and a work table during club hours for the initial four weeks after which you will be required to buy your own carving equipment.  While the blog is being set up please feel free to ask any questions in the comment section and someone will reply to your question.
